We have evaluated in the last five years 64 Italian subjects affected by different forms of O.I. All patients were in growing age and had clinical and functional evaluation in two or more different periods with at least three years of survey. The parameters evaluated were as follows:
Neuromotor development (using Gross Motor Function Measure).
Incidence of fractures in lower arms before or after walking acquisition.
Age of intramedullary nailing in lower arms.
Muscle strength defects.
Joints range of motion.
Hyperlaxity.
Spine deformities: scoliosis and/or kyphosis - (age of development, site, rotation, thoracic deformity).
Disability evaluation (using Functional Independence Measure - F.I.M. and its pediatric form WeeFIM).
School activity (with or without supporting teacher).
Sport and leisure.
Social integration.
Food preferences.
Neuropsychological problems.
Psychological problems in the child and/or family.
Other medical problems.
These data seem to be useful both in the planning of specific treatments for the single patient and in predicting short and medium term outcome for similar subjects.
